Right to Repair

Mulhouse, berceau des réponses à l'urgence planétaire

Nous proposons d'amorcer un changement de paradigme économique et social à partir d'une ville "berceau" pour expérimenter des innovations fondées sur la valorisation de gisements de ressources inexploitées (talents invisibles, "Right to Repair", économie circulaire), puis de faire passer ces solutions à l'échelle en nous appuyant sur de nouvelles formes d'entrepreneuriat, modèles d'affaires, modes de construction et de partage des biens communs.

Ce projet prend son essor dans un territoire qui s'est construit historiquement sur l'audace entrepreneuriale et la solidarité, et qui par l'ampleur de ses potentiels en friche, tant matériels qu'humains, est en mesure d'interpeller d'autres territoires qui souhaitent se mettre en mouvement ou le sont déjà.

Le Right to Repair est un modèle économique, technologique et social à triple impact : il permet de réparer les objets, les hommes et le territoire, en luttant contre l'obsolescence accélérée, et en remettant l'innovation au service de l'homme. Porté par des pionniers de l'innovation ouverte, open hardware / open source, il a fait ses preuves à grande échelle depuis la Chine à l'Afrique, et a été reconnu en avril 2019 par le gouvernement français dans le cadre du PIC – 100 % inclusion.

Mulhouse, cradle of responses to the global emergency

We propose to initiate a change in economic and social paradigm from a "cradle" city to experiment with innovations based on the development of untapped resources (invisible talents, "Right to Repair", circular economy), then take these solutions to scale by relying on new forms of entrepreneurship, business models, methods of building and sharing common goods.

This project takes off in a territory that has historically been built on entrepreneurial audacity and solidarity, and which by the magnitude of its fallow potential, both material and human, is able to challenge others territories which wish to set in motion or are already it.

First key point :

The Right to Repair is an economic, technological and social model with triple impact: it makes it possible to repair objects, people and the territory, by fighting against accelerated obsolescence, and by putting innovation at the service of man . Supported by pioneers of open innovation, open hardware / open source, it has proven itself on a large scale from China to Africa, and was recognized in April 2019 by the French government as part of the PIC - 100 % inclusion.

Motoco is first of all a place, with a history and a singular appearance. Then there is Martine Zussy, an extraordinary woman whose motivation is matched only by the benevolence and the human qualities favoring the creativity of the 140 artists in residence in the year in these premises in the heart of Mulhouse. The city suffered the full force of the reduction in industrial activity in the early 1970s, particularly in textiles, and was forced to rebound before most of the other geographic areas of France. The result is a fertile ground for talents, initiatives, ideas and projects where it is pleasant to wander and be inspired.
