Monica is saying that they have been inviting people here with the intention to be a small but diverse group. We have been working in pads, each meeting has been documented. We started working in Catalan, we changed to Spanish and the basic pad has been trasnlated into English. We have definied the areas which the commons includes: The Rural, Common Knowledge, Urban Commons, Natural Commons, Digital Commons. The state of the commons: emerging, consolidated sustainability, threatened. Fields of work: governance and conflict resolution,
They have been using Jitsi to allow people to join in who otherwise might be excluded by a technological barrier

Argentina. Group of cultural actors, in northern Argentina, challenge going into a new group with a cultural mapping. who where very thankful, a strong qualitative feedback not so much quantitative.
Challenge: How do we measure what we are doing, how we create indicators?
Key actors: cultural community + facilitators
Zagreb. Right to the cities movement. About 6 years ago, a woman that comes to Zagreb and defends street in the center where someone built a garage and a shopping mall, organisations defended the place, with a blockade stopping further construction, it lasted for several months, when they were already moving us out, we were doing shifts, we got to know eachother and become friends, in the end they arrested a 150 people, we missed the chance to invite other people, and have a bigger movement, they still built, but they lost a lot of money, and it was an inspirational for other cities. The right to the cities movement still exists, this was a seed that was planted. we had circles, of about 30 people that meets twice a week, and about 800 people ready to come when we called them.
Challenge: how do we invite more people in the movement?
Actors: urban commons activitsts, lawyers, ordinary citizens,...
Barcelona.
a historical area for entertainment, with several movements in the neighbourhood, and finally the city council recovered the building, in the begining the city council wanted to destruir el edificio, pero el movimiento consiguió recuperarlo y convertirlo en un punto para actividades de la comunidad.Hemos conseguido.
Frederic: "Convergence is not inclusion".
"Living as a commoner".
¿How do we live what we are saying or theorising?

- Trough better communication, to be able to internally move from one concept of commons to another, from one practice of commoning to another. That would make the commons practice more holistic. "Cross-selling" the commons = crosscommoning :-)

1.visualizar / relato /comunicación
2. Educación
3 Convergencia// -lenguaje, -comunes tradicionales/emergentes, -norte/sur
4. Gobernanza comunal / comunitaria
5. Medios y fines // Llevarlo a la práctica --- cambio cultural
6. Disputas poder estado y corporaciones
Estrategias políticas del movimiento -
Political strategies of the movement have also been mentioned as a seventh point, but this last one - political strategy seems to be a means to achieve these challenges rather than a challenge in and of itself. Or perhaps this issue is part of point number 5.
Question on convergence. It is an opportunity to explore the relationship between traditional commons and the digital commons, or housing commons, personaly we need to use the forum to create an exchange channel, a question of land ownership, those being disposessed from their lands, but in other countries it is equally a problem but we are unable to articulate it. in the UK in scotland is begining to ...
range of mountains is going to be sold
Need of more space to talk of strategies
Annual Commons Europe Meeting. is it going to happen?
Stragies as aggregating 6 challenges
Digital commons revitalize and now are converging with natural commons, like L'Atelier Paysan, in France : modes of production are becoming distributed
peer-production as compass for social and solidarity economy
what are the differences betzeen the different movements divided into different working groups : what are tensions and disagreements? are we all part of what big movement?
political strategies are also relational and governance strategies, and economic strategies
6 concepts are too simple for those who wont have attended , need for subtitles to be able to share with other groups
if we only consider 6 thematics, we forget the 7th one on startegies, it s something else that should be discussed
visualize process tomorrow ? starts this evening: divided in 6 groups that will join groups from other working groups, tomorrow morning, introduction round like today and sharing experiences of confluence, then speaker for each group will present what happened and we will work on putting together a list
There were a couple of ideas that have been lost
Talking as a group of people in the commons movement
Finding how we are distinct from other movements here
3 cuestiones que salieron ->

Notes from informal meeting in the pub 5.4.19
Discussion round about where we are at with the European Commons Assembly (ECA)- please note: these opinions do not necessarily follow on from each other or agree. We didn’t try to come to a common position.
WE WILL MEET AT LUNCH ON THE 6.4, we will also probably meet at 6:30 tomorrow afternoon, after the rest of the process is finished for the day.
1. Instead of the ECA, commons activists could continue as part of the WSF process- drawing on the strength and structure of that process, use the space to organize ourselves,
2. It would be great to continue the ECA, see use in it, sad to hear nothing planned, convergence is a strength and opportunity, good to feel like you are not alone, people that have energy or desire to do it should be empowered,
3. Question about what process is needed at a European level? Is it useful to organize at this level? If it is how could we federate, make it more visible, make it more used, how do we draw on the history? could we do an online process?
4. There are issues with the existing ECA process: framing as European vs broader, Scaling up the process of the meetings, reduction of communing to issues of administration, de-centring of ‘European,’ Centring of traditional commons, centring of life, lack of power of existing narrative,
5. The commons movement is the same as other movements here- so why not unite with them
6. The commons movement is separate/different, valuable and needs it’s own articulation and commons need to be defended, is useful to help speak back to privatisation solutions to ecological crises, all this means we should have some process.
7. In the context of climate change articulation of alternatives on our own terms are important, commons work should alo focus on making visible practices that are working
LA BAMBA REBELDE
Para cambiar el mundo se necesita
un poco de confluencia
Un poco de confluencia
Could we please upload here the presentation that the ¡facilitators done?
...Here is our councils ion about challenge 3: CONVERGENCE!
Convergence as 1) an agenda about systemic change through commons lens, and 2) as a social existence between people that are commoning and people that have a social existence based in communities...this is traditional commons between emergence commons (digital, urban) that revitalize the traditional ones.
Tash's Minutes - lunch meeting 06/04/19
https://pad.femprocomuns.cat/p/fsmetcommons06042019l
Lunch Meeting notes from Commons informal meeting 6.4.19
Proposal 1: - to set up a meeting- an annual meeting- to meet and to share the commons movement situation, how to organize in Europe/linked with other groups
Proposal 2: To do this meeting at the next social forum here next year
Proposal 3: To foster self organized cooperation about important topics people want to develop, Comanaged by people platform of school or communing,
Proposal 4: To organize well the Commons Axis at the forum,
Proposal 5 To also organize a regional commons group in areas- and to discuss the relationship at European and international level
Proposal 6: To have a World / Global / Interglatic/Pluriversal Commons Assembly
Proposal 7: To have Local commons Assemblies
We agreed with all the above proposals! We checked if there was energy for them, and there was some indication of energy. Then we agreed to reality check this with who could actually do what things in the evening meeting
Other comments/desires
To use the people that are here now- do that at 6:30
To make an example of what commons can do- collaborative tools, using the pads,
Common is the defacto mode of social organization
What can we share already,
Who do we think we should be inviting to the conversation,
Use it to make the best of what we have
How would it be to be in this process
What do we do with the ECA- we can have a global and a European relationship, perhaps regional, as well as the WSF
WSF different offers up a different perspective -
Different conception of the commons - less heady, more embodied- with life at the centre
We need to make clear to other streams what the commons are
What acctual committments can people make- can you care for 50 people?
Evening Meeting, we didn't discuss the proposals or who would do what- these things were proposed
To meet again tomorrow after the process finishes for hte day.
To define what we need to do to actualise these proposals
To figure out how we will organize ourselves in these processes
To define what our next steps are
To distribute tasks/roles and define responsabiities
To map existing networks and connections
Ruby/ Finland: what is the call the for the process and sending it back to ECA, thinking twoards the assembly here in 2020,
Giocomo: caring for people we invite- and thinking about how we do thit, launching the funding idea to fund the group- crowd searching
Kevin: try and bring one person at least and get money for that, talk with people in Ireland about organizing a local assembly- including some younter activists in assembly, continue working with the Barcelona group
Claudia/ Mexico: 1) To propose a 'practice community'for kids and youthas a process through WSFTE...the path about "The other worls of kids and youth that already exist"
2) To build narrative and experience about convergence between com
commoning and communitie sof practice- 3 dialogos - documents, un doccument collaborativo, socializar,
Tim: Thinking about how commons can make a contribtuion- extinction rebelion, how we are using digital, networks outside europe in india nan
Noni: supporting ot ignite the annual meeting of the commons- what is the platform we will use to do that - particularly for people that are not here, willing ot be part of hte barcelona team. Can do support for how to organize and link with Global South, how to deal with visas
Monica: Can't commit to anything right now. Our team need to recconnect and talk with org of forum and see how we fit and how we continue. Can committ to make the connection between us.
Natasha: can host big/small meetings in Kristiania – strong links to Ghana, South Africa and to Australia/New Zealand. Would need: understand more clearly what is happening, funding and infrastructure support for doin things,
Devesh: can connect to commons group in india. Ccan also do the digital tools work-with
Walter: trying to set up a useful tool for our communicaiton
Friederike: Was PGA-press coordinator, some links could be useful. + MOVE Utopia - an encounter for a world according to needs & abilities, takes place 10-14 July (www.move-utopia.de), will unite more than 1.000 people interested in these topics of rejecting exchange logic - all kind of experiences and theory around commons is deeply wanted! + Within the commons-institute and the demonetarization movement in Germany and Austria exists quite a lot of literature; including two books of mine - help with translations (p2p or with money) would be great!!
Brasil: need help with communications, few indians and much territory to defend and biodiversity to defend,
Claudia Brazil: to understand what does the procomunns mean, to understand the concept, consejo de puebols- diversity in teh commons and the forum, need the forum to open much more for people to participate in the forum,
Stacco: things we can use from the organizations that he is part of- online tools- online diaries, how transition to introduce people, have in English and Spanish, can bring lots of people becuase of involvement in networks, we need: to think about how many actual people we can involve, to make it easy for people to fund us, translation for the forum general, he can duplicate and invite ECA list people to join a list for presentation of the ongoing
Natxo: Into education and that is where he wants to put his energy, commons in education could work
Monica- researcher- can help wiht proposal for match funding- writing projects in general, connection with other academic centers in Italy- can share what we do here
David: will continue in Barcelona support group, in contact with grupo de impulso, to do it the most transparent way, improve on the things that didn#t work in the lead up to this, although one year is not too long! For 2020, it would be good to have people in different regions and spaces of other kinds. Will try to be in connection with other axis.
Jenifer, XES ecología: there will be a summerschool on commons in Catalunya, also take back to the group what we discuss and see if they find place in it.
Claudia Portugal, Tim, Noni, Monica, Tash, Divish, Alberto, Claudia, Stacco, Natxo, David, Wouter
Ideas: do comatch funding and individual match funding
Question- dividsion between natural and digital? Why- should we change that.
